SANKALP: Strengthening Skilling Institutions for India’s Future
SANKALP (Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion) is a World Bank-assisted project launched by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to enhance institutional capacity, improve quality, and bring convergence in India’s skill development ecosystem.
At Sapphire Semicon, we are proud to align with SANKALP’s mission to foster institutional reform and innovation in skilling by working directly with Skill Development Missions, training providers, Sector Skill Councils (SSCs), and other key stakeholders across India.
To strengthen the quality and governance of skilling institutions by:
Building institutional capacity at national, state, and district levels
Driving quality benchmarking and standardization across training centers
Promoting demand-driven training, data-driven policy, and inclusive access
Encouraging innovation, industry engagement, and sustainable skilling models
Launched in 2018, SANKALP is a five-year project co-funded by the World Bank and Government of India, designed to:

Data Entry, Digital Literacy, Web Development
Vehicle Maintenance, Design, Fabrication
CNC, Mechatronics, Production
Solar Technician, Electric Vehicle Maintenance
Warehousing, Supply Chain, Customer Service
General Duty Assistant (GDA), Patient Care
All courses are aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and certified under respective Sector Skill Councils (SSCs).
Without strong institutions, skilling programs cannot scale, sustain, or serve their purpose.
